Life's Duality
Joyful and Challenging
Life is both beautiful and challenging. We all experience moments of joy—falling in love, the birth of a child, a stunning sunset—but also moments of pain like loss, illness, and heartbreak.
While happiness and hardship are universal, the modern world tends to be obsessed with the pursuit of happiness. We often try to excessively control or avoid difficult emotions, thoughts, and experiences, which can lead to more suffering and losing sight of what truly matters to us. For instance, we may fill our time with distractions, regret working excessively hard throughout our lives, or avoid difficult conversations ultimately worsening our connections

About Me
I'm Klaske Feersma Hoekstra, and I'm dedicated to guiding you on your Path of Life. Together, we'll explore your behavioral patterns, learn new ways to handle thoughts and feelings, and identify what truly matters to you—all to help you create a meaningful Path of Life.
My Story
Growing up in the countryside and attending school in a small village, I often felt out of place. This led to struggles with fear and excessive behavior during high school. I went to therapy, and although it helped partially, I didn’t feel the approach reached me on a deeper level until I discovered Positive Psychology and ACT during my studies. ACT transformed my perspective, allowing me to deal differently with my fear and live fully—through new jobs and hobbies, living abroad, and building new connections. I started Path of Life because I want you to have a similar experience.
Education and Experience
I hold a master’s degree in Psychology and have completed post-graduate courses in Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Clinical Psychology, and stress and burnout coaching. I bring five years of experience in social work and reintegration, along with two years as an assessment psychologist. In both roles, I worked extensively with individuals who felt stuck in their lives. My experience spans multiple countries—South Africa, Colombia, Ghana and Cambodia—working with people from diverse backgrounds. I continuously learn and grow through interactions, literature, courses, and my work with Path of Life.
My Approach
I approach everyone with openness and curiosity, believing that we are all on our own Path of Life. I see each person as navigating their unique journey, with their own joys, struggles, and strengths. My approach is open, enthusiastic, and personal.
